All areas of the Main Events of World Youth Day 2019 have a universal design so that all people can fully participate regardless of their condition.

 

WHAT TYPE OF SERVICE WILL BE AVAILABLE IN REGARDS TO ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORTATION?

 
First of all, it will be ensured that all pilgrims with reduced mobility will not be separated from their groups in their accommodations. Those who require or request accessible accommodations will be assigned them, whether in homes, schools, and/or centers.

 
Wheelchair users will be provided with adapted transportation to arrive at the designated places for the main events.

 
Those who have some type of reduced mobility can get around the city and use public transportation with the members of their pilgrimage group.
 
 

WHAT SERVICES WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ENSURE A GOOD EXPERIENCE DURING THE MAIN EVENTS AND CATECHESIS?

Volunteers designated to attend to pilgrims with some type of disability at the venues of the Main Events and the assigned areas to access them.
 
Spaces adapted for people with hearing, visual, or cognitive disabilities and reduced mobility, according to their principal needs in the Main Events, both in Santa María la Antigua Field and in Saint John Paul II Field.

Sign language interpreters at the Main Events.

 
Participation in the Masses and catechesis together with their language and pilgrimage group, where access for these venues has been prepared so all can participate.
Accessible confessionals for the pilgrims with reduced mobility in the Garden of Forgiveness.
